Lilac’s ears twitched as she grazed. It was early morning and she and her foal had found a quiet spot to eat near the river. The mare lifted her head for a moment, watching for danger. She didn’t like not having a heard, especially sense she now had a foal. It would be much safer for both of them to be in a group, even a small one. She looked down at the little black and white colt who stood next to her. Dakota was only a few weeks old and was still finding interest in the simplest of things. He noticed a rabbit had crawled out of its hole a few feet away his ears flung forward “Wow mummy, what the heck is that thing?” he looked at it curiously. The mare looked “A rabbit” she answered with a small laugh. Dakota tossed his head in the air and ran over, expecting to find someone new to play with. The rabbit took off across the field and Dakota ran after it “Hey get back here!” he yelled. Lilac snorted “Dakota, don’t go so far!” she was angry to see that her request had been ignored and her son was still on the run. She quickly scanned the area for anything dangerous and then snorted again.

The stallion was watching the two from the darkness of the forest. He saw the foal run towards him and he gave a smirk. The bunny sensed his presence because it dodged him and ran off the other ways into the forest. The colt was standing in front of the stallion and he looked down at him. His breath was calm and so was his thoughts. Dark eyes connected with the foal's little ones. He didn't say anything for a bit but then spoke with low tones, You should really listen to your mother. His eyes darted towards the mare that was approaching. Then they went back to the foal as he waited for either of them to do something.

Dakota stopped dead when the rabbit veered off into the woods. He gave a confused look and then looked up, realising he wasn’t alone anymore. The little horse looked up at the adult male, looking somewhat scared, then he spoke to him. Dakota still looked frightened, he looked behind him to see his mother approaching, he was relieved. He looked at the stallion again “I was just playin” he said with his head low. He knew when he was in trouble and he knew his mother wasn’t going to be too impressed with him ether.
Lilac noticed the stallion and hurried towards her foal. Once she reached the two of them she stepped in front of her colt, giving him a look that told him she would deal with him later. She turned to the stallion again “hello” she said. She watched him cautiously, this was exactly why she didn’t like being alone with her foal. Now all she could do was hope the stallion was friendly.

His dark eyes flicked towards the mare before returning to the foal, You're lucky you know. If I was bad I could have hurt you. The mare walked up and he turned towards her. Hello He looked at them both and smiled, You must be new to the Terran. Since your in this land you must not have a stallion to accompany you. He shook his head, That's the main reason to be careful. Someone could try to harm you. He laughed at the thought, and looked past them, towards the opposing woods.

At the mention of ‘if he were bad’ Dakota was both relived and scared. He’d never thought of that, at his age life was pretty care free. He looked up at his mother, he knew he would be in big trouble, his head sunk close to the ground but he couldn’t help but look to see if that rabbit was anywhere nearby.
Lilac nodded, she still wasn’t sure she trusted the stranger. “Yes were new. But were alone” she replied. She almost wished she hadn’t said that but she wasn’t going to lie. She had no real mate, Dakota’s father was a force breeder.

Lilac looked relieved when she heard Frenz laugh. "Im Lilac and this is Dakota" there was some anger in her voice when she said her son's name. She was still angree with him, he had to learn to be less adventurous untill he grew up a little. "Its nice to meet you. And we would be glad to have some company" she said with a smile and then looked at Dakota. "Don't you ever run off and ignore me again, got it!" she scolded, she loved him verry much but he sure knew how to make her mad. Dakota nodded "Sorry..." he said quietly.

Frenz laughed, Well I can teach Dakota a few tricks I know so he won't be stuck in situations like this. He smiled at Lilac and walked closer to the two, If you follow me I'll show you where I live. He tossed his head in the direction of his home but kept his eyes on the two.

Lilac smiled and looked back at the foal, it was hard to stay mad at him for long. The colt was looking up at Franz with a grin "Ok!" he said happily, feeling better when he saw his mum smile. Lilac nodded "Alright lead the way" she said, she was clearly alot calmer than she had been a moment ago.

A smile came to the stag's face and he started to walk off in one direction. He tossed his head to keep the bothesome flies off.
